Director, Spring Woodlands Tennis Academy

Ken Olivier, MS

“We help players grow in skill, confidence, and discipline both on and off the court. Through structured training, clear standards, and consistent feedback, every player has a defined path to improve. Players don’t just train here. They grow, compete, and learn how to handle pressure on court and in life.”

As a collegiate national champion and Hall of Fame inductee, Ken has spent over 25 years coaching junior players at every level. During his player development journey, Ken trained directly with Rick Macci, one of the most respected coaches in the game (known for coaching 5 world #1 players). Your child is learning from someone who has competed—and succeeded—at the highest levels of the game.

Coaching Philosophy

Family Heritage

A Tennis Family Legacy

Tennis is not just a profession for Ken—it is a generations-long family legacy of high-level coaching and competition.

Historical Ties

Deeply Rooted in Championship Tennis

Ken married into a tennis family with generations of high-level experience in the game. His mother-in-law grew up competing against Maureen Connolly (“Little Mo”), one of the most iconic champions in tennis history. His father-in-law, Carmack Berryman, was a pioneering coach who recruited international players, shown here alongside Maureen Connolly in San Diego.

Elite Training

Trained with legendary Coach Rick Macci

Ken’s personal tennis development was guided by legendary coach Rick Macci, who trained world #1 players like Serena Williams, Venus Williams, Andy Roddick, and Jennifer Capriati. This top-tier instruction system is replicated directly in the academy’s player training curriculum.

D1 Athletic Pathway

Collegiate Success at the Highest Levels

The collegiate pathway isn’t theoretical—it’s proven in Ken’s own family. His wife, Cheryl Olivier, played collegiate tennis on a full scholarship at East Texas State. Both of Ken’s daughters, Sheri and Emily, earned full athletic scholarships to nationally ranked NCAA Division I programs (Texas A&M and SMU/New Mexico respectively).
